I am so excited to announce the launch of my first collection, The Blauvelt Collection. Blauvelt is a family name on my father’s side and means ‘blue fields.’ I thought it was an appropriate name as the collection is inspired by my heritage and personal experiences. Water and waves, city shadows and paint splatters, a vintage scarf from my great aunt, and compositions started in my sketchbook all layered together to create these pieces. You can see the lookbook here.
These are pieces that are designed to be casually elegant, but practical, meant to be lived with and enjoyed. They are made of durable, but soft, natural fabrics including cotton canvas and twill, as well as natural and chambray linen. There’s no dry cleaning needed – you can throw them in the wash, and give them a quick ironing when needed. These are pieces that can layer into any room, just like your favorite chambray shirt can layer into any outfit. Perhaps my favorite detail is the exposed brass zipper, which is the signature closure. I think it’s the perfect mix of style and utility.
Thank you so much for your support. I hope you will stop by the shop and let me know what you think!
