Color Palette Inspiration: Yellow and Tangerine

Posted by: Rebecca Atwood

When it comes to pattern mixing, my first step is always choosing a color palette. A cohesive color palette can help different patterns work together more easily.

If you follow along, you know peachy tangerine hues are my favorite. They’re surprisingly neutral and versatile hues, so don’t be afraid to try adding them into your space. With the days getting shorter and winter just around the corner, I love the idea of bringing in tangerine and peach hues with some happy yellow hues. This combination is sure to add a bit of sunshine to your home.

Our Crescent Dot in Yellow-Pink is the perfect pattern to base your palette around. You can then mix in a range of tangerine or yellow fabrics. Having that one pattern that includes both colors helps tie it all together and make it feel purposeful.

Ready to add this palette to your home? Here’s a pillow mix I’ve put together for you, or shop all of our yellow patterns here and our peach-tangerine patterns here.  Be sure to check out our top pattern mixing tips and my book Living with Pattern for more ideas.
