Designing for the Connecticut Country Home

There's nothing like escaping the city for lush greenery...

Imagining how we’d redecorate a new space is one of our favorite activities, so we are excited to introduce a new series on The Fold in which we’ll be sharing some schemes we’ve dreamt up for different types of homes.

We’re inspired by the interior designers we work with and regularly admire the way they are able to mix our patterns with other design elements. Putting ourselves in their shoes for these posts has not only been a fun exercise but has also deepened our appreciation of the creativity needed to design a beautiful space.

Today we are dreaming up a scheme for a country home in Connecticut. See more of our inspiration below.

Fabric & Wallpaper

For this room, we are imagining our Painted Foliage in Peach wallpaper looking nice in a room like this, as well as our Howland Stripe in Dennis Green and Textured Geo in Taupe fabrics. This wallpaper could transform the living room into an actual garden-like oasis.

Fabric & Wallpaper

For this bedroom, we like the idea of using our Dashes Wallpaper in Taupe for wallpaper. Keeping with the taupe palette, we'd also use our Dashes in White & Natural and our Dot Dash in Taupe.

For the bed, the Geo Coverlet has a slightly rumpled quality that we think complements the comfort and hominess of a bed you want to curl up in.

For the bedroom, we like the idea of using the Allied Maker Accordion Bell Sconce

Interior Design by Edited Style.

Fabric & Wallpaper

Our Ombre Stripe fabric has a subtle color shift that makes a traditional stripe feel fresh. Edited Style used our Ombre Stripe in Dennis Green for this kitchen roman shade. Hear more from the designer here. I like the idea of pairing our Dotted Palm in Leaf and Grass fabric in Black/Natural for a kitchen like this one.

These bowls designed by Luke Eastop ceramics are so pretty. I love the different shades of neutrals and how they are styled with an ombre effect.
