Four Years

Today marks 4 years since my first collection launched. I made 60 pillows in total, and most were one-of-a-kind. I printed, dyed, and hand painted them myself in the second bedroom of our Park Slope apartment. For the first year, I washed screens in our shower, shibori-dyed fabrics in our kitchen sink, and stored the ever-growing inventory of pillow inserts in our bedroom. Work was everywhere, and so I worked most of the time.

Now, a team of three, we’re in a bigger studio space and while those days weren’t that long ago it feels like they were. I love that in our new space there’s room to breathe, and room to grow—it feels great. The past few years it’s as though time is moving a bit faster than it used to. Months seem to pass by in the blink of an eye and I’m reminded that it’s important to stop and look back. When I think about what we’ve done I am so proud of where we are now. This last year brought our collaboration with method home, my first book Living with Pattern, as well as new prints and techniques for fabric by the yard and pillows. Perhaps the best thing I did this year though was an entrepreneurial class with Holly Howard. The process we went through enabled me to start dreaming bigger and planning for growth.

I can’t wait to share with you what we’ve got in the works.  Thank you for all of your support and for following along. I hope we can continue to inspire you to make unique, personal, and exciting spaces. We’re here for you and you can always reach us by email, leaving a comment below, or social media.
