One of the things that I enjoy most about my job is working with our wonderful interior design clients. I'm always so excited to see our products in a real home! You can see all our the posts in our Interior Designers We Love series here.
This room by Kendall Simmons was first featured on Style Me Pretty Living. Kendall is not only a master pattern mixer, she is able to create fun and beautiful interiors for kids as well. See how Kendall used our Blooms Wallpaper in Navy and hear about her inspiration for this room below.
From Kendall: "This room belongs to Lila. She’s 8 years old, and was in need of an upgrade from her previous little girl space. Lila’s mom reached out to me to help create a retreat fit for a big girl, with the goal of longevity in mind. We set out to design a room that feels perfectly comfortable for an 8 year old, but can easily transition for an 18 year old with only a few tweaks. For our signature design element, we decided to go all out with a wall of Rebecca Atwood wallpaper behind the bed. The floral pattern is whimsical enough for a child, but at the same time it’s sophisticated enough for a young (or not so young) adult! So often, children’s rooms fall into the trap of everything being perfectly matched. For Lila, we pulled together a mixture of fun, unexpected patterns with wallpaper, bedding and misc fabrics in order to add visual interest and help her room feel like it’s been collected over time."
