Interior Designer We Love: Toledo Geller

One of the things that I enjoy most about my job is working with our wonderful interior design clients. I'm always so excited to see our products in a real home! You can see all our the posts in our Interior Designers We Love series here

When Toledo Geller got in touch with these living room chairs featuring our Dashes fabric in Midnight Black we knew we had to share! Hear more from Toledo Geller below.

From Toledo Geller:
"We adore Rebecca Atwood’s designs for their painterly feel, so when we began working with an artist who is known for her watercolor paintings and ink drawings, without hesitation, we thought of Rebecca Atwood’s fabrics. The soft lines of Dashes and the variation of the strokes gives the print a very organic feel, and the midnight black color lends a touch of sophistication to an otherwise whimsical print. We chose this colorway as a neutral textured background to her vibrant and colorful artwork, which we reframed for her new home. The chairs that we upholstered with this fabric has been a long-time favorite of ours, and we have debates in our studio as to whether it should be called the 'Lips' chair or the 'Mustache' chair for it’s soft curved top to the slipper chair. This pattern was perfect for the chair upholstery because of the irregularity of the dashes gently follows the sinuous shape at the top of the chair. Our client is an empty nester with many antiques, heirlooms and vintage pieces, and we were tasked with repurposing those and blending them with newer furnishings to create a timeless and livable design, which our firm is known for. In this area, we reused her sideboard, sofa, end tables and lamps while the slipper chairs, area rug and shagreen cocktail table are all new."
