There's nothing like a little bed makeover to freshen up your bedroom. We were so excited when Victoria Smith of SF Girl by Bay choose to update her bedroom with our new bedding line. Hear from Victoria and see more from her bedroom below! Victoria also has a very inspiring Instagram - if you'd like to follow along you can do so here.

Rebecca Atwood Designs: What time do you go to bed?
Victoria Smith: Generally around 11pm.

RAD: What’s on your nightstand?
VS: Candles, current reading (books and magazines), my iPad, Sonos speaker, and crystals.

RAD: What’s your nighttime routine look like?
VS: I generally wash my face and moisturize, put my comfiest pj’s on and watch a TV show online or surf Pinterest, or read a book. Sometimes I take a long bath before bed. I also use a night mask for the darkest of dark bedrooms - it helps me sleep.

RAD: What’s your favorite thing about your bed?
VS: I’m kind of like ‘the princess and the pea’ and am very sensitive to my bedding, so I love smooth, soft sheets. I also use a memory foam mattress - they’re super comfy.

RAD: If you wake up in the middle of the night what do you do to get back to sleep?
VS: I use Rescue Remedy spray and sometimes eat a banana. My mom told me the potassium helps you sleep -- I’m not sure if it’s really true, but it’s comforting.

RAD: What are you reading/watching in bed?
VS: Lately, I’ve been watching Ozark, This is Us, The Daily Show. I just read Less by Andrew Sean Greer and it was really wonderful - funny and touching.

RAD: Top tip for getting a good night’s sleep?
VS: If you find out, let me know. I really struggle to turn my brain off at night. I take herbal remedies like Kavinace Ultra PM which sometimes helps. And if I can get some good exercise or yoga in that definitely helps.

RAD: What motivates you?
VS: Other inspiring creatives -- seeing their studio spaces or homes. A great museum or gallery visit. Just observing really - I like to walk around the city exploring urban neighborhoods and discovering new spots -- whether it’s a park or an interesting shop or cafe. Just getting out and seeing something new.

RAD: How do you like to spend your weekends and free time?
VS: I just put in a Cowboy Pool (a stock tank that I added a filter to) so when it’s super hot in L.A. I float in the pool with a good book. I usually go to a flea market on Sunday like the Rose Bowl or the Long Beach Flea Market, and if there’s not a flea market on, I go to the Hollywood Farmer’s Market - it’s my favorite. I’m also usually out on a hike with my dog Lucy. And, dinner with friends on Saturday or Sunday nights

RAD: Does your bedding change with the seasons?
VS: Everything in my house changes - I like mixing things up and change out my decor regularly.

RAD: What little changes do you think make the biggest difference when getting in bed?
VS: I think putting away the tech devices and reading with candlelight slows me down and gets me out of my work headspace since I spend so much time online all day at my job. And, as I said - super comfy sheets and bedding are a must!

RAD: What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
VS: Jordan Ferney of Oh Happy Day! once said “The chief cause of failure and unhappiness is trading what you want most for what you want right now.” I think that’s very true in our era of instant gratification.
