When I think back to the beginning of 2019 and where we are now, I have to say I’m amazed. It might be because when the year started, I was in the midst of a huge transition. My baby girl was about 9 weeks old and I was so tired! I had no idea how motherhood would feel and what a shift it would be for me. On our small team of six, we had two more beautiful babies born just weeks after mine. With half of our team navigating new motherhood, the start of the year was a time of conserving and maintaining, but not taking big leaps forward.
Now, looking back on the year I am so proud of what we have accomplished. With the warmer weather came renewal. We navigated team changes and the first full year of having our own showroom, while streamlining our operations and starting to build a new foundation for growth. We hosted designer lunches at our showroom, and I learned so much talking with you about your businesses. It inspired me and reminded me why we do this. We said goodbye to team members and welcomed new ones.
And of course, I can’t forget, my second book, Living with Color, launched at the end of August and then my collaboration with Hunter Douglas in September. I should mention, both of those projects were mostly wrapped up before my baby was born!
It was a year for change, and I’m so thankful for all of your support. It’s truly an honor to build relationships with people who care about the work we do. I know we are stronger now than we were a year ago, and I am so excited for the year ahead. If there’s one lesson I’ve learned this year, it’s that personal growth is intrinsically linked with business growth. Thank you for that one, Holly. So here’s to the new decade!
With thanks,
Rebecca
